Qualifications

Graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England, where Vera studied singing and piano and qualified as a music teacher. Licensed by The London Royal Academy of Music as a singing teacher. Studied songwriting and harmony at the University of California in Los Angeles.
Vera founded and ran her highly successful Solo School of Music from 1991 – 2008.

Commended by The Brit School in London and the Brighton Institute of Modern Music for the early work done with children, making them ready for a Graduate Program.

Vera’s professional background

Vera worked as a professional musician for 15 years. Sang on live radio, live TV, traveled for concerts in Italy, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Oman, and Belize. Did many recording sessions in London recording studios for commercial jingles and backing vocals. Recorded with Miguel Bose in Spain for CBS and George Michael in London. Was signed to Warner Bros as a singer/songwriter. Two songs were hits in France and Sweden.

In 1994, Vera founded and ran The Solo School of Music just outside of London England.

This became very well known in the area and many students went on to sing in bands, attend prestigious music colleges, perform in musicals and school concerts, record their own albums and give a lot of pleasure through their singing. The school was heralded in the press and on local radio as a true benefit to the community. The school increased in size to 3 venues and taught thousands of young singers.

In 2008 Vera emigrated to the USA and lived in Maryland for 5 years where she gave regular singing classes at The Olney Theater.

In January 2014, Vera relocated to Clearwater Florida, and opened Vera’s Music Academy.
